With their noisy calls and bright colors, parrots are among the most conspicuous of all the world’s birds. There are about 330 species, many of which are now threatened by extinction. Most parrots live in forests and woodlands in warm parts of the world. They fly through the trees, or use their feet and their hooked beaks to clamber among the branches. Many live in pairs or flocks and search together for their food of fruits, seeds, nuts and flowers. About quarter of the world’s parrot species are endangered. Some have suffered because they are caught and sold as pets. So, kiddies never buy any caged animals as they will be happy only when they are set free…
